This and That

Go on over and say hello to a new blogger, The Voice of Melody. She has just started her blog and already it looks great. It looks like there will be lots of wonderful recipes and friendly chats over tea. Welcome aboard!

I love to read. I always have a book with me when I leave the house. You never know when the line at Burger King might be slow or you get stuck behind a long train. Sweety has physical therapy twice a week so I read there, also. Then there are evenings where I will read for hours. "Is it really 2:00 a.m.?"

I've discovered a new author, Robyn Carr. I just love her books. So much so that I have read three in the past three days! She's been writing for a while so I don't know why I just found her. So far I have finished her Virgin River series of three books as well as her Grace Valley series of three books. Virgin River and Grace Valley are llittle towns set in Northern California filled with good, hard working people. The story lines are compelling and believable. Although they are considered "romance" novels, they are more than that. You won't find any over the top, embarrasing love scenes here. Sometimes I'll buy a book and let my mom read it first (she's 85). Then I get it home and start to read it and think, "oh, my gosh, I let my MOTHER read this!" You won't have to worry about that with these books.
My next read is Robyn's Virgin River Christmas. I can't wait to start it. I"m actually making myself get some work done around the house and errands run before I start it. What I would like to do is crawl back in bed with a cup of tea and start it right now. Discipline, Miss Jean, discipline.

My favorite authors in no particuar order:

Who are your favorite authors. What have you read lately? Do you belong to a book club? What have you read this past year with your group?

Miss Jean, thank you so much for the warm welcome and kind words. How very sweet of you! :)

Thank you as well for introducing me to Robyn Carr's books. I will surely be adding them to my reading list.

I too love to read but have never heard of this author. These books look wonderful. I know never judge a book by its cover...but it sure helps. :) I am forever debating with myself...quilt...stitch...read...

I got so much reading done when I was waiting for appointments while being treated at the rehabilitation center for my FM and back. Those doctors and their constant tardiness give you are great opportunity to catch up on a chapter of a good book.

I will email you my photo tutorial for the folded yo-yos. I am running out of memory on blogger and will have to switch soon so this time I did a tutorial in 3 Word documents to email to anyone asking me for them.

Hugs ~
Heidi

Hello Miss Jean! It looks like you've had a great time at the quilt show while I was gone. I hope you're feeling better now.

I love your new banner with the cute puppers!
