Serenity

Do you have a favorite place to rest? Is it at your home? Do you walk to your favorite park and sit on a bench and watch the world go by? In the summer I love to sit outside on the chaise and read a book in the afternoon with a cup of tea. In the winter, I admit nothing is better than climbing into bed, turning on the electric blanket and reading or catching up on my television watching (I love the Bonnie Hunt show!)

One day I asked Sweety, "where's Maggie?" I went downstairs to look and lo and behold! She has found her favorite spot. It's an antique chair that I "inherited" from my sister. Maggie can sit there and watch the birds outside and then take a nap. What is it about the chair that she likes? I have no idea. Maybe it's the feel of the fabric. She doesn't get up on the other furniture in the living room. I do know for sure, though, that she doesn't know there is a cat watching over her!

Have a lovely and peaceful weekend!

Rocky Mountain High!

I'm back online. Well, almost. Not like I would like to be. So far we have me hooked up as the dedicated line and Sweety as wireless. I want to be wireless as I don't like - WIRES!!!!! I have a laptop and I want to be able to move around. Besides, my computer is in the family room and I don't like - WIRES!!!! Sweety has promised me he would work on it this week. But as some of you know, I'm fighting March Madness, otherwise known as "sitting all day watching basketball!" Hey, you've seen one game, you've seen them all! Te He!

I have a favor to ask all you out there that live in or near Colorado or have ever been to Colorado. (Coloradoites - Coloradoettes - Coloradians - Colorado People). Our son is in the military and has recently been transferred to Colorado. This is a big yea as this is the closest he has been stationed to us in YEARS!!!! We are so excited and planning on driving there to visit him and his lovely little wife sometime this spring . We went down to AAA and got the maps and tour guides and now we want to start planning our trip and would like to know:

A. Where would you recommend we go

B. What are your favorite destination points in Colorado

C. What are the restaurants that are "must visits" ala "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives"

D. Anything else you would recommend we do or not do

E. Any favorite places to stay

Thank you so much for your help.

Mommy! What do you mean I'm not going to Colorado with you? Doggone it!"

Now that I am back in action on my blog (keep your fingers crossed), I'll do some posts later this week to catch you up on what's been going on in Miss Jean's garden.

Ta Ta for now and have a lovely weekend.

Internet - Can't live with it, can't live without it!

Well folks, my internet is not working YET AGAIN!!!! I'm having to do this post on my husbands, ugh, Macintosh.  I can't download my pictures so I'm going to wait till I'm up and running again before I show you what's been going on in my little corner of the world.

My daughter has the flu, I'm watching my grandson because he's sick and my husband is sick.  Maybe they caught a virus from my computer?  Ya Think?  :-)

Have a great weekend!

Spring!

Look what happened last week when I was sick! When I started feeling better I thought I'd take Maggie for a walk. I wasn't really paying attention to anything until I got to the end of my street. I looked up and WOW! Spring snuck up on me. Talk about beautiful. These are almond trees. It's my favorite time of the year. I end up spending hours on end in the back yard. Cleaning up from the winter, planting new spring flowers, repairing sprinklers!

I hope things are beautiful in your little corner of the world, too!

I'm Back!!!!

I have my internet access back! Yea!!! Yea!!! Yea!!! What was wrong, you say? Well, let's just say that Mr. Sweety is being extra special nice to me right now if you catch my drift........

Onwards and upwards and on to another subject.... First and foremost, I love a clean house. Mine is not always as clean and spotless as I would like it to be. I live in the central valley of California and you can dust one minute and the dust just comes back as soon as you are done. Same for dirty garages and patios. It's like swimming up stream. Add to the mix, I have a very active dog who loves to track in dirt from the back yard. But I do like to keep the house as clean as I can and things picked up and put away.

Windows have never been my strong suit. Lord knows I try. Take this picture for example. This is the sliding door from the dining room to the patio. In other words, Miss Maggie's main avenue for going out and coming back in. "Birds, Mommy, Birds!" (jump, jump, jump). "I want in Mommy!!! Now, now, now" (jump, jump, jump). How long had it been since I washed it, you say? TWO DAYS!!!!!!! TWO DAYS !!!!! In fact, the window looks much worse in person. What looks like haze in the picture is true brown DIRT!

Please tell me I'm not alone on this one!

We interrupt this message.......

First of all, I am over the flu!  Yea!!!!

Second of all, we have been without internet access for the past four days.  Booooo!!!  I have things to share but they will have to wait until  Sweety figures out what the problem is and gets things up and running again.  (I'm writing this on his Macintosh and the system is still "iffy").

In the meantime, scamper on over to Becky's blog and see the new little member of our little Scotty menagerie!
