If you can't stand the heat...........

.....get out of the valley. With triple digit temperatures expected that's exactly what we did last week. We're watching the boys full time this summer and even for them, the days are just way to hot to enjoy. So like last year, we headed off to the coast to Monterey. If you haven't been there put it on your wish list of must places to visit. We did very few things again that we did last year other than going to an Imax movie in the evening. We still were able to keep the boys really busy.

Our first stop was Casa de Fruita. We have been going there for years, since our kids were little. Lots of little fun things for families to do and a nice rest stop on your trip.

The boys even got to pan for gold.

This is what I'm talking about folks!!!! Beautiful city, beautiful weather.

We even went out on a boat on the bay!

My Museum is a fun place for children to spend an afternoon. Lots of interactive things for them to do.

They spent lots of time at the beach playing and staying cool.

The spent a few hours at Dennis the Menace Park which is located across the street from Fisherman's Wharf. Yes, it was designed by Hank Ketcham the artist who drew Dennis the Menace.

After we left Monterey we drove up the coast to Half Moon Bay, Pescadero and Pacifica. On our way home there was a 50 degree difference in temperature from when we left the coast till we got home. AAAACCCKKK! Needless to say, I'm anxious to go back. It's only approximately a three hour drive from here which is very doable.

Next post I'll show you pictures of some of the restaurants we ate at. If you know me and Mr. Sweety, it's all about the food. And boy did we eat!!! Stay tuned.

Stay cool out there folks!!!

Oh! it is so hot here in the Valley. I thought it felt much hotter than the 106 yesterday. I am staying inside that is for sure. The boys are so cute and they must be having a good time with their Grandparents. Enjoy the fun time with them. Sandi

Oh My Stars! It's Jean! Thank you so much for visiting me today! I'm dying if I'm lying - I was just thinking of you yesterday because I was looking in my newest Gooseberry Patch catalog and saw a C-U-T-E scotty tea set complete with tea pot and cups and I instantly thought of Y-O-U and how cute this would look in your parlor!! Seriously! God is better than he has to be because I was wishing I had your blog address memorized and here you are!

I lurve your pics of Monterey as we will be going there in a few weeks and I didn't know of the museum or the park as we usually spend our time at Carmel Beach! But I just showed my man the pics and he said, lets check it out!

THanks again for the reunion! Your on my blog roll again!

Monterey is beautiful and I love all the little shops near the Aquarium. Sounds like y'all had a wonderful time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I just became a follower of yours so I'll be stopping by to visit often.

Thank you soooo much for all the info, it will come in very handy! You're the best! By the way, my memory had it that Maggie had a little sibling that came a while back. Do you still have her or did she have to go to a new family?

I have no idea why I've never been to Monterey. I've grown up in So Cal but make my way up north several times a year. I will make a point of it soon!
