Darn it! That's the hard thing about being away. I'm going away for a week in two weeks and I'm afraid I might miss my lilacs too -- they are so short-lived, but I love them, so I'm hoping I won't miss them. Fortunately you have your beautiful pictures for reminders!
I am always envious of you wonderful gardeners. I am enjoying the dandelions in my yard - and can hardly wait to see the Tiger Lillys bloom. And I have enjoyed the beautiful violets, but I take no credit for any of them - the Master Gardener put them all here for me to enjoy.
While we were on vacation to Denver we missed this in our yard.....

Everything looks so gorgeous and what a bummer that you missed them, but it was worth it wasn't it? Your trip looks like it was such a joy.
